The St Helen’s Balconiers are assisting Neath CC in offering hospitality for the Glamorgan v Lancashire fixture on Wednesday 17th August 2022.
With Glamorgan being the winners of last year’s competition, and Lancashire not having played in Neath since 1961 we are pleased to see them at this years West Wales Cricket Festival at Neath Cricket Club.

James Harris will be the next speaker in the popular series of talks held by the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket, with the online event taking on the evening of Thursday, 3 March.
“An Evening with James Harris” will start at 19:00 via ZOOM with the all-rounder reflecting on the highlights of his county career so far with Glamorgan and Middlesex as well as with various England age-group teams.
In particular, James will reflect on his dramatic first summer with Glamorgan’s 1st XI and how the seventeen year-old from Pontarddulais became in 2007 the youngest-ever bowler in the entire County Championship to take ten wickets in a match, as he returned match figures of 12/118 against Gloucestershire at Bristol. James will also be talking about his work off the field with the Professional Cricketers’ Association for whom he is now Chairman.

AN EVENING WITH TERRY DAVIES – 27 JANUARY @19:00
Arrangements for the first Museum talk of 2022 have been finalized with Terry Davies, the former Glamorgan wicket-keeper, being the guest speaker at the online event on the evening of Thursday, 27 January.
“An Evening with Terry Davies” will start via ZOOM at 1900 with the former wicket-keeper looking back on his professional playing career, initially with the MCC groundstaff at Lord’s during the late 1970s, before joining the Glamorgan staff as Eifion Jones’ deputy behind the stumps and subsequently playing for the Welsh county alongside the likes of overseas stars Javed Miandad, Ezra Moseley and Winston Davis, plus South African-born all-rounder Rodney Ontong, and the emerging young players including Hugh Morris, Greg Thomas and Matthew Maynard.
Terry emigrated to Australia at the end of the 1986 season, and during the talk he will reflect on his time leading Bankstown CC to a pair of Sydney Grade Premiership titles alongside the Waugh twins, Steve and Mark, as well as his work as a state selector with New South Wales and Marketing Manager for South Australia. Terry subsequently became Chief Executive of the South Australian Cricket Association, before becoming the General Manager of the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne and subsequently moving to New Zealand where he is Chief Executive of Dunedin Venues.

The final Museum talk for 2021 will feature Kiran Carlson and will look back on his success in leading Glamorgan to victory in the Royal London Cup Final against Durham at Trent Bridge.
“An Evening with the Carlson’s” will take place via ZOOM starting at 1900 on Tuesday, 14 December and will also look, with the help of Kiran’s parents, at his rise into the Glamorgan playing squad via the pathway programme via Hawthorn Primary School and Whitchurch High School.
Besides looking at his time in junior cricket, Kiran will also reflect on his dramatic first-class debut at Northampton in 2016, where he took five wickets, as well as the match later that year at Chelmsford where, aged 18 years and 118 days, Kiran became the youngest-ever centurion for Glamorgan in first-class cricket.
Given Glamorgan’s success in the Royal London Cup, this will be a very fitting way to end a year which has seen the Club secure its first silverware for seventeen years.

The ECB has confirmed the announcement of the women’s and men’s domestic fixtures for next summer will be released as early as possible in 2022.
The creation of a fixture list is a complex task that requires certainty around many factors including tour schedules, venues for all internationals, men’s and women’s, and other major matches.
LV= Insurance County Championship matches will be played regularly from the start of the season until the end of July. The Royal London Cup and The Hundred will follow before the Championship finishes in September.
The Charlotte Edwards Cup will be played in May and June with the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy in the second half of the season.
The Vitality Blast will commence at the end of May with Finals Day to be staged at Edgbaston on 16 July.
We know how much members and supporters like to plan ahead for next summer and thank you for your patience. We will update when we have further details from the ECB on when fixtures are to be published.
“Glamorgan CCC – the 2000s and 2010s”
The last in what has proved to be a popular series of Anniversary Talks, celebrating Glamorgan Cricket’s 100 years as a first-class county, will take place via ZOOM on Thursday 2nd December, starting at 19:15.
“Glamorgan CCC – the 2000s and 2010s” will involve a group of the Club’s former players including Dean Cosker, Mike Powell, David Harrison and Mark Wallace, the current Director of Cricket, with the evening looking back on two decades which saw the Welsh county win one-day competitions in 2002 and 2004 besides featuring in Lord’s finals in 2000 and 2013, as well as appearances at T20 Finals Day in 2004 and 2017.
These years also saw significant changes off the field with the creation of the Sophia Gardens stadium and Test Cricket being staged in Wales. Indeed, the panel will reflect on the 2009 and 2015 Ashes, as well as the other high-profile matches and tournaments which Glamorgan Cricket have successfully staged over the course of the past few years.
Once again, the evening will embrace the recollections of the panel of former players, together with a photographic presentation using copyrighted material from the Club’s Archives.
