It is with sadness that the St. Helen’s Balconiers record the passing of Lawrence Williams a member of Glamorgan’s county Championship squad of 1969.

The next in the series of Winter Talks organized by the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket will be held via ZOOM on 23 February starting at 1900.
“An Evening with Andrew Salter” will feature an online talk with the batter and off-spinner who won his county cap during 2022 having been Man-of-the-Match in the Royal London Cup Final in 2021 against the Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge.

During the evening, Andrew will also reflect on his progression from school and club cricket in Pembrokeshire to a place on the staff of Glamorgan Cricket, as well appearances for England’s age-groups teams and playing for the Welsh county at Lord’s in the Yorkshire Bank Pro40 competition against the Notts Outlaws during 2013. The latest in the series of Winter Talks organized by the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket took place on 31st January.
“An Evening with Michael Cann” featured an online talk with the former batter and off-spinner who played for Glamorgan from the mid-1980s until the early 1990s, besides having a spell in domestic cricket in South Africa.
During the evening, Michael talked about his progression from school and club cricket in the Cardiff area to a place on the staff of Glamorgan Cricket, as well appearances for the Combined Universities in the Benson and Hedges Cup, as well as playing for Orange Free State and Griqualand West.
He also spoke about a number of humourous incidents during his time playing for Glamorgan’s 1st and 2nd XI, as well as a friendship with Allan Donald, the famous South African fast bowler, and his life after professional cricket.

It is with considerable sadness that we have to inform you that our longstanding and devoted Treasure Clive Hemp passed away early this morning after a long illness.
Our heartfelt thoughts go out to Elizabeth his wife and his children David, Tim, and Charlotte and their families.
He will also be greatly missed by us as Balconiers for his sound advice and considerable contribution over many years.

The St Helen’s Balconiers are arranging a Celebration Lunch at The Towers Hotel, Swansea Bay, on Friday 19th November (12 noon for 12.30) to mark the centenary of Glamorgan achieving first-class status. At the same time, we shall be celebrating the birthday of Jeff Jones and recalling his outstanding achievements, including winning 15 England caps and making 157 first-class appearances for Glamorgan. We most warmly invite you to join us in these dual celebrations.

Matthew Elliott will be the next speaker in the popular series of virtual talks held via ZOOM by the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket.
The talk with Matthew Elliott will take place via ZOOM starting at 19:00 on Saturday, 6 March with Matthew reflecting on his outstanding playing career in domestic cricket with Victoria, South Australia, Glamorgan and Yorkshire, as well as his time in international cricket with Australia. In particular, Matthew will be recalling his time in Wales as the Welsh county won the Sunday League title in 2004, as well as playing for Glamorgan in the Benson and Hedges Cup Final of 2000, and at T20 Finals Day in 2004. In addition, Matthew will also be talking about his life after retiring from playing professional cricket.

Michael Kasprowicz will be the first speaker of 2021 in the popular series of virtual talks held via ZOOM by the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket.
The talk with Michael Kasprowicz will take place via ZOOM starting at 1000 on Monday, 11 January with Michael reflecting on his outstanding playing career with Queensland and Australia, as well as county cricket with Essex and Glamorgan. In particular, Michael will be recalling his time in Wales as the Welsh county won the Sunday League titles in 2002 and 2004, as well as the dramatic Ashes series of 2005. In addition, Michael will be talking about his life after retiring from playing cricket, with the former seam bowler now working in cricket administration in Queensland, besides serving as a Director of Cricket Australia, as well as taking part in a Q and A session with attendees.
