The very first Balconiers’ Glamorgan Player of the Year was Arthur Francis in 1973.
County Cricket Day…. is a fan driven campaign to celebrate County Cricket inspired originally by Non League Day, which has successfully engaged football fans to attend lower league games and helped revitalise the sport at that level. This initiative aims to bring the same enthusiasm and support to county cricket.
The full Press Release can be read below but please note Glamorgan will be using the initiative on the 23rd June. “As Glamorgan are away from home on this date, they were invited by the National County Cricket Members Group (CCMG) to use the previous week’s game against Northamptonshire, June 23rd, as their involvement in the venture. Glamorgan through its CEO Dan Cherry have been very supportive of the idea. They are offering reduced price (£7) tickets if bought in advance and children to be admitted free of charge. “
The Balconiers and Glamorgan combined Players Annual Awards Dinner 2023. The Balconiers are proud that this season we will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of having organised this Presentation event.

The St Helen’s Balconiers are assisting Neath CC in offering hospitality for the Glamorgan v Lancashire fixture on Wednesday 17th August 2022.
With Glamorgan being the winners of last year’s competition, and Lancashire not having played in Neath since 1961 we are pleased to see them at this years West Wales Cricket Festival at Neath Cricket Club.

The St Helen’s Balconiers are arranging a Celebration Lunch at The Towers Hotel, Swansea Bay, on Friday 19th November (12 noon for 12.30) to mark the centenary of Glamorgan achieving first-class status. At the same time, we shall be celebrating the birthday of Jeff Jones and recalling his outstanding achievements, including winning 15 England caps and making 157 first-class appearances for Glamorgan.
